Cookie Policy

What the site stores on your device, why, for how long, and how to control it.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies — such as localStorage and sessionStorage — serve comparable purposes. In this policy “cookies” covers all of these.

2. What DJI Index stores

Preferences (browser storage, set by the site)

  • Market (localStorage, key dji-user-country) — the market you chose or that was detected for you. Persists until you clear it.
  • Theme (localStorage, key theme) — light or dark mode. Persists until you clear it.
  • Catalog search history and filters (localStorage) — recent searches and saved filters on the catalog page. Persists until you clear it.
  • Catalog search text (sessionStorage) — a search typed into the page address is moved here so it is not sent to analytics, and is removed as soon as the catalog reads it.

None of these are sent to us.

Security (set by our host)

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

  • Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*) — measures aggregate traffic and feature use. Set by Google only when analytics storage is granted (see section 3). These cookies last up to about two years unless you delete them.

No advertising or affiliate cookies

DJI Index shows no advertising and uses no affiliate links, so it sets no advertising or affiliate cookies.

3. Consent defaults

The site sets Google consent-mode defaults before Google Analytics loads:

  • EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, UK and Switzerland: analytics and advertising storage are denied. Google Analytics still loads and sends cookieless pings, but sets no _ga cookies.
  • Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends GPC, the same denial applies wherever you are.
  • Everywhere else: analytics and advertising storage are granted by default.
  • URL passthrough is on, so when storage is denied Google may carry measurement and ad-click identifiers in link addresses instead of cookies.
  • Analytics measurement is switched off for browsers that identify as automated or report typical automated-browser screen sizes.

4. Managing your preferences

No consent banner is currently shown, and there is no on-site cookie settings control. You can:

  • Turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser to deny analytics storage.
  • Use your browser’s settings to block or delete cookies and site data. Clearing site data also removes your saved market and theme.
  • Install Google’s Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

5. Do Not Track

There is no common standard for how to interpret the “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal, so the site does not respond to it. It responds to Global Privacy Control instead, as described above.

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date above will reflect the latest revision. See also our Privacy Policy.
