Privacy Policy
What we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how to exercise your rights.
Last updated: April 30, 2026
1. Who we are
djiindex (“djiindex,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website at djiindex.com. This policy describes how we process personal data when you visit the site. For questions or to exercise your rights, contact [email protected].
2. What we collect
Information you provide directly
We do not require accounts or registration. The only personal data you give us directly is what you choose to send via email (e.g. your address and the contents of your message).
Information collected automatically
- Approximate location — derived from your IP address by a third-party geolocation API to show you the prices most relevant to your market. We do not store your IP address on our servers.
- Country preference — if you change the market manually, your selection is saved in your browser’s local storage on your device. It never leaves your browser.
- Theme preference — light/dark mode is stored in your browser’s local storage.
- Analytics events — usage analytics (pages viewed, country changes, link clicks) processed by Google Analytics 4. See Third parties below.
- Standard server logs — our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes IP address, user agent and request metadata for security and abuse prevention. Logs are retained per Cloudflare’s standard policy.
3. How we use your information
- To display prices in the correct currency and market
- To remember your country and theme preferences across visits
- To measure aggregate usage and improve the site
- To deliver and measure advertising (where applicable)
- To respond to inquiries you send us
- To detect, prevent and respond to fraud, abuse and security incidents
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Legal bases (EU/UK/EEA)
If you are in the EU, UK or EEA, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — for non-essential cookies, analytics and personalized advertising. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — for security, abuse prevention, aggregate analytics where permitted, and maintaining the service.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR) — to comply with applicable law.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our third-party partners use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for the full list, purposes and durations, and how to manage your preferences.
6. Third parties we share data with
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand site usage. GA4 may set cookies and process IP addresses; Google acts as a separate data controller for some of its processing. IP anonymization and short retention windows are configured where supported. For EU/UK users we rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses for international transfers. See Google’s privacy policy.
Google AdSense and other ad partners
djiindex may display third-party advertising delivered by Google AdSense and other ad networks. When ads are enabled, those partners may use cookies, web beacons and device identifiers to serve and measure ads, and — only with your consent where required — to personalize ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and other sites.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by Google by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalized advertising via aboutads.info/choices (US), youronlinechoices.eu (EU), or your browser’s tracking-protection settings.
For users in the EU, UK and EEA, third-party advertising is gated behind Google Funding Choices, a Google-certified Consent Management Platform compliant with the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF) v2.2 and Google’s additional consent requirements. No personalized advertising and no non-essential third-party cookies are loaded before you give consent.
Affiliate networks
When you click an affiliate link (for example to store.dji.com) and complete a purchase, the destination retailer’s affiliate network may set a cookie that allows us to be credited with a commission. We do not receive your name, address or payment details. See our affiliate disclosure.
Hosting and infrastructure
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes traffic data for security, performance and abuse prevention. Sanity.io serves our content management data. Both act as processors on our behalf.
Other disclosures
We may disclose personal data when required by law, court order, or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of djiindex, our users, or the public.
7. International data transfers
Some of our service providers are located outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, the UK extension, the Swiss-U.S. DPF, and the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses to safeguard transfers.
8. Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described, to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. Aggregate analytics data is retained per the configured GA4 retention window (currently 14 months). Email correspondence is retained for as long as needed to address the inquiry.
9. Your rights
EU / UK / EEA (GDPR / UK GDPR)
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request deletion (the “right to be forgotten”)
- Restrict or object to processing
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority — find yours at edpb.europa.eu
California (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, plus the right to limit use of sensitive personal information and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.
To opt out of sharing for behavioral advertising, use the consent settings and the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal — we honor GPC where it is sent by your browser. You may also use our [email protected] address.
Other jurisdictions
We provide equivalent rights to residents of jurisdictions whose laws so require, including Brazil (LGPD), Canada (PIPEDA / Quebec Law 25), Australia (Privacy Act), and U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws (e.g. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Iowa, Tennessee, Indiana, Delaware, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Minnesota, Maryland, Rhode Island, Kentucky, Nebraska).
To exercise any right, email [email protected]. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframes required by applicable law (typically 30–45 days).
10. Children’s privacy
djiindex is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, please contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
11. Security
We use HTTPS across the site, security headers, and reputable infrastructure partners. No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, post a prominent notice on the site.
