Buying DJI in Hong Kong and Macau: store prices, tax, delivery and warranty

Hong Kong’s and Macau’s DJI store prices against China’s and the lowest DJI store, from daily store data, plus the customs, delivery, drone-registration and warranty rules to check.

Hong Kong and Macau each have their own DJI online store, and DJI Index checks both once a day, alongside the China store. The Hong Kong store lists prices in Hong Kong dollars and the Macau store in US dollars.

The table is built from the store prices committed on the day this page was built. Every store’s price for one product is on its page, for example DJI Flip or DJI RS 4 Mini. By category: drones in Hong Kong, drones in Macau, and action cameras across all stores.

Tax and duty

Hong Kong’s Customs and Excise Department says Hong Kong is a free port that levies no customs tariff on imports and exports (Customs and Excise Department: duty-free concessions), and that there is no value added or general services tax (Customs and Excise Department: cargo clearance). Macao is also a free port, and no duties are levied on imported goods (Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute).

None of this changes what your home country charges when you bring a product back.

Delivery

DJI says its orders can only be shipped to the country where the order is placed (DJI Store help: shipping). The Hong Kong store’s shipping page repeats the rule and names DHL and SF Express as its carriers (DJI Hong Kong store shipping page); the Macau store’s page repeats it too (DJI Macau store shipping page). Ordering online from either store needs a delivery address there.

Customs when leaving Macau

Macao Customs asks passengers to declare goods worth more than MOP 5,000 at the red channel, on arrival and on departure, unless an exception in Macao’s Foreign Trade Law applies (Macao Customs Service notice to passengers). Read the notice before carrying an expensive item through.

Flying a drone there

In Hong Kong, small unmanned aircraft and their remote pilots must be registered unless the aircraft weighs no more than 250 g and is flown within the applicable operating requirements; visitors register with their travel documents (Civil Aviation Department: tips for visitors).

Macau’s Civil Aviation Authority exempts drones of 250 g or less from labelling, registration and pre-flight notification when they are flown within its conditions, and requires all three for heavier drones (Civil Aviation Authority of Macao: drones).

Warranty

DJI’s Hong Kong service policy applies to Hong Kong only. It says that, because product versions differ, products have no global warranty, and repair outside the region of purchase is paid service (DJI Hong Kong service policy). Bringing it home
