Is DJI cheaper in China? Prices in rupees for India and Nepal

A dated answer from DJI’s China store against every other DJI store, in Indian and Nepalese rupees, plus delivery, tax refunds, customs and warranty.

DJI Index collects no DJI online-store price for India or Nepal. The table below sets the DJI store in China against every other DJI store that DJI Index checks once a day, converted to Indian and Nepalese rupees.

What the store data shows

DJI store prices: China and the cheapest store

Base kit of each product in DJI’s official online stores, checked in the 72 hours before this page was built, converted to INR and NPR. Δ is how much more the store costs than the cheapest tax-inclusive DJI store.

DJI's listed prices. Stock is checked once a day, only at the DJI store ranked cheapest for each variant, and shown with the date of that check; elsewhere stock not checked — check the store before buying.

The table is built from the store prices committed on the day this page was built, so it changes as DJI changes its prices. A position near the top means the China store listed a lower price than most DJI stores for that product on that day. It says nothing about other retailers, card fees or what you pay at the border.

Every store’s price for one product is on its page, for example Osmo Pocket 3 or DJI Flip. The China store’s prices by category start at drones in China, and the same categories across all stores at drones, action cameras and gimbals.

Can you order from DJI’s China store?

DJI says its orders can only be shipped to the country where the order is placed (DJI Store help: shipping). The China store’s shipping page says an order whose country differs from the recipient’s country cannot be changed and must be placed again on the matching store (DJI China store shipping page). The China store is therefore an option only if the parcel can be delivered to an address in China.

Tax refunds for visitors to China

China refunds part of the VAT on goods that overseas visitors take out of the country. An overseas traveller here is a foreign national, or a Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan resident, who has lived in mainland China for no more than 183 consecutive days; the goods must be unused and leave within 90 days of purchase (Ministry of Finance Announcement 2015 No. 3).

For goods taxed at 13% VAT the refund rate is 11% (Announcement 2019 No. 39). A purchase qualifies from 200 yuan, counted for the same traveller on the same day in the same refund shop (State Taxation Administration Announcement 2025 No. 11). Some refund shops pay the refund at the time of purchase against a credit-card pre-authorisation, which is charged if the traveller does not leave China as agreed (Announcement 2025 No. 9).

The refund applies only at shops in the scheme. Ask the shop whether your purchase qualifies before you pay.

Bringing it home

India prohibits importing drones, with exceptions only for research, defence and security under an import authorisation from DGFT (DGFT Notification No. 54/2015-2020). Do not plan to bring a drone bought in China into India. For cameras, gimbals and microphones, see bringing DJI products into India.

Nepal’s Department of Customs lists goods that returning residents may bring in free of duty for their own use, including one camera and one video camera they have used themselves (Nepal Department of Customs notice). The notice pages DJI Index read do not name drones, and DJI Index found no official Nepal rule on importing one. To fly a drone in Nepal, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal sets the requirements, including a temporary drone registration for foreign nationals (Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal: drones).

Warranty

DJI says it does not provide a global warranty: warranty service is given at a designated DJI repair centre in the region where the product was bought (DJI after-sales service policy). A product from the China store comes under DJI’s mainland China policy; see DJI China version vs global version.
