DJI China version vs global version: warranty, DJI Care Refresh and region checks
What DJI says about warranty by region of purchase, DJI Care Refresh and region-dependent radio bands, and what to check before buying a DJI product sold for another region.

Sellers often describe a DJI product as a “China version” or a “global version”. DJI Index found no DJI page that defines either term, so this guide keeps to what DJI does say: warranty depends on the region of purchase, DJI Care Refresh is tied to that region, and some radio bands depend on local law.
Warranty follows the region of purchase
DJI’s global policy says DJI does not provide a global warranty: warranty service is available only at a designated DJI repair centre in the region where the product was bought. Depending on parts, cross-regional repair may be available at an additional charge (DJI after-sales service policy).
Sending a product from one region to a DJI repair centre in another needs DJI’s consent, and the customer bears the customs duties, taxes, clearance and other costs (DJI after-sales service policy).
DJI’s mainland China policy applies to mainland China only. It says that, because product versions differ, products have no global warranty, and that repair at a centre outside the region of purchase is paid service only (DJI mainland China service policy). The Hong Kong policy uses the same wording and applies to Hong Kong (DJI Hong Kong service policy).
DJI Care Refresh
DJI says the product and the DJI Care Refresh plan must be bought in the same country or region, and that the warranty period is set by the place where the product was bought (DJI Care Refresh service terms).
The same terms list the products with an international warranty service: Osmo Mobile, Ronin, Osmo Action, Osmo Pocket, Osmo 360 and Osmo Nano models. No drone is on that list (DJI Care Refresh service terms).
Radio bands depend on local law
DJI’s specifications mark some radio bands as usable only where local law allows. The DJI Mini 4 Pro specifications, for example, say the 5.170–5.250 GHz band can be used only in countries and regions where local laws and regulations permit (DJI Mini 4 Pro specifications).
DJI Index found no DJI page on separate China and international versions of the DJI Fly app, or on region-locked firmware or languages, so this guide makes no claim about them. Ask DJI support about the exact model before you buy.
Before you buy a product sold for another region
- Ask the seller which DJI store or region the product was sold for, and keep the invoice.
- Expect warranty repair in another region to be paid unless DJI confirms otherwise (DJI after-sales service policy).
- Buy DJI Care Refresh in the same country or region as the product (DJI Care Refresh service terms).
- Check your home country’s import and flying rules before buying a drone abroad: see bringing DJI products into India and importing a DJI drone.
To compare one product across DJI stores, open its page, for example DJI Flip, Osmo Action 5 Pro or Osmo Pocket 3. Store-by-store guides: is DJI cheaper in China? and buying DJI in Hong Kong and Macau.
